Research Interests

My research works are about identification and quality control of traditional Chinese medicines. Especially I am very good at microscopical identification of Chinese medicinal materials. I studied microscopical characters of many traditional Chinese medicines, such as Asari radix et rhizoma, Aristolochiae fructus, Swertiae Mileensis Herba, Siegesbeckiae herba, Erodii herba geranii herba and Pini lignum nodi. All works show microscopical identification is a useful, cheap and quick method, and it should be greatly developed. I am also working on identification of crude drugs by computer technique in recent years, and have built adatabase of microscopic photos, and a computer identification system of 50 kinds of Chinese medicinal materials.
