Research Interests

Our research mainly focuses on the discovery of novel natural products from endophytic bacteria of biological samples originated from marine or medicinal plants; synthetic biology of functional natural products. We construct the libraries of endophytic actinomycetes and genomic DNAs (3000 strains up to now). We carry out the screening of potential terpenoid-producing strains by using genome mining methods, and discover new terpenoids from these strains. The heterologous expression of whole diterpenoid biosynthetic gene cluster or individual terpenoid cyclase in heterologous hosts also be carried out.
